Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Location: Spokane, WA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and executing complex engineering and manufacturing projects within a regulated aerospace and industrial environment. This role provides technical leadership, manufacturing support, and mentorship to junior engineers while overseeing projects from concept through production and customer delivery.

This position emphasizes manufacturing readiness, design for manufacturability (DFM), productibility, and regulatory compliance to ensure projects meet cost, quality, schedule, and customer requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Lead projects from design concept through manufacturing, integration, testing, and customer delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate technical and manufacturing risks.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and deliverables to management and customers.

Engineering & Manufacturing

  • Support and oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, manufacturing, and testing activities.
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable, inspectable, and compliant with customer and internal standards.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing plans, and work instructions.
  • Complete design concepts and detailed engineering designs as part of an integrated engineering team.
  • Support design validation through testing, analysis, and evaluation of manufacturing results.
  • Apply knowledge of automated control systems, electrical design, and programming to manufacturing and integration efforts.

Quality & Compliance

  • Partner with Quality to maintain compliance with AS9100 and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering and manufacturing activities comply with AS9100, customer specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Review manufacturing plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria to ensure design and performance requirements are achieved.

Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Solve complex engineering and manufacturing challenges with practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and risk reduction.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate engineering and manufacturing documentation including:
  • Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
  • Design changes
  • Travelers
  • Inspection records
  • Manufacturing documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of engineering project management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting manufacturing, integration, and testing.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software such as:
  • SOLIDWORKS
  • CATIA
  • Similar CAD/PDM systems
  • Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with:
  • Engineering drawings
  • Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Travelers
  • Inspection records
  • Aerospace manufacturing documentation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing process development and production support.
  • Cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.

Working Conditions

  • Travel to customer sites may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing/shop environments.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • engineering project management experience in a manufacturing : 7 years (Required)
