Job Skout — Privacy Policy

Job Skout helps you build a career profile and apply to jobs faster — on the
web app at jobskout.com and through the Job
Skout browser extension. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used,
and who processes it. We do not sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and
authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Career profile — the details you enter or import from a
résumé: name, contact details and address, work history, education, skills,
work-authorization answers, job preferences, and optional self-identification
(EEO/demographic) answers. The optional answers are blank unless you choose to
add them.
- Résumés and documents you create or upload, and jobs you
save or get alerts for.
- Subscription information — your plan status and the
identifiers from our payment processor. We never receive or store your full
card number.
- Job-application form fields — when you use the extension,
it reads the labels and inputs of the application on the page you're viewing,
locally in your browser, to match them to your profile.
How we use your information
- To provide the core service: storing your profile and résumés, searching
jobs, and — through the extension — suggesting answers you review and accept.
- To generate optional AI content you request (cover letters and answers to
open-ended application questions) from your own profile and the job posting.
- To manage your subscription and authenticate you.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it
to determine creditworthiness.
Service providers who process data for us
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend
hosting. Your account and profile data are stored here, protected by
row-level security so only you can access your own records.
- Anthropic — the AI provider behind résumé parsing, cover
letters, and application answers. When you use those features, the relevant
text (résumé content, the job description, and your profile details) is sent
to Anthropic solely to generate the requested output. It is not used to train
their models.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles your card
details directly; we only receive your subscription status and Stripe's
customer/subscription identifiers.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the website.
The browser extension
- Your profile and session are cached in the extension's local storage on
your device so suggestions work as you browse.
- The application form on the page is read and matched locally
in your browser. Page content is never uploaded anywhere.
- Sensitive self-identification questions (gender, race, veteran, disability)
are never auto-filled — you confirm each one yourself.
- Nothing is ever submitted for you. You review every value and submit the
application yourself.

Your choices and data removal
- You can view, edit, or delete your profiles and résumés at any time in the
web app.
- Signing out of the web app clears the extension's session; uninstalling
the extension removes its locally stored data.
