Clean Harbors is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join our dedicated and safety-focused team in Cleveland, OH! In this role, you will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on our fleet of company-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all work practices, policies, and procedures;
  • Safely move company equipment around the yard as required;
  • Collaborate with drivers to resolve vehicle-related issues;
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on our vehicles and equipment;
  • Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of machinery;
  • Complete required daily checklists;
  • Ensure that all equipment is parked and secured according to facility permit and DOT regulations;
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the facility;
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned by management to meet the needs of Clean Harbors.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment;
  • At least 1 year of experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment;
  • 1 year of DOT inspection experience is mandatory;
  • Must provide your own basic tools;
  • Related mechanical certifications are an asset but not mandatory;
  • Willingness to pass a background check, drug test, and physical examination upon hiring.
