Lead Financial Analyst

## About the Role

Highmark Inc is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This position is based in Pennsylvania and operates on a work-from-home arrangement. You'll be responsible for conducting comprehensive financial and business analysis, including preparing forecasts, analyzing financial reports and trends, and managing database systems to support decision-making across the organization.

## What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of financial analysis projects from start to finish—gathering and interpreting financial and statistical data, developing spreadsheets and databases that drive insights, and presenting findings to management at all levels. Your work will involve analyzing financial reports and records, providing explanations for variances, and making recommendations regarding reserves, assets, and expenditures.

A key part of this role is serving as a project lead for special initiatives within the department. You'll coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions to ensure projects move forward on schedule and meet established deadlines. This includes regular communication with management across the organization and affiliated entities to keep stakeholders informed of progress and completion timelines.

You'll develop and document business policies, conduct special financial studies, and prepare ad hoc reports. Working with both PC and mainframe-based systems, you'll compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts that translate complex data into actionable insights. Your problem-solving abilities will be essential—you'll independently pursue solutions and document recommendations for management consideration.

## What We're Looking For

You'll need a minimum Bachelor's degree, or the company will consider relevant experience and education as a substitute. Critically, you must bring 7 to 10 years of related progressive experience in accounting and/or finance, with demonstrated experience leading projects of varying size and complexity.

Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Access is required, along with familiarity with various computer applications. You should be comfortable working with accounting information systems, both input and retrieval functions.

Beyond technical skills, we need someone with strong written and oral communication abilities who can build relationships across business units. You're a self-starter who thrives under pressure, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You think strategically, act proactively, and have the innovative problem-solving capabilities needed to create strong trust and confidence with business partners. Client focus and strong business acumen are essential to success in this position.

## Work Environment and Requirements

This is an office-based position with a work-from-home arrangement. You may travel 0% to 25% of the time. The role involves teaching and training others occasionally. You'll be lifting up to 10 pounds constantly and 10 to 25 pounds occasionally in the course of your work.

## Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $86,400 to $138,600 per year. Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including your qualifications, experience, expected contributions, internal peer equity, market considerations, and business needs. Geographic differentials may apply based on comparative markets in certain locations.
