Chamberlain University is seeking a qualified Science Faculty member to teach Anatomy and Physiology onsite at our Jacksonville, FL campus.
As an Assistant Professor, you will deliver high-quality instruction across classroom, online, and applied learning environments, while contributing to committee work, service initiatives, and scholarly activities. This role plays a critical part in advancing student success and preparing future healthcare professionals.
Faculty are expected to meet defined outcomes annually through an Individual Performance Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching Excellence & Student Success
Deliver instruction aligned with the College’s philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives across classroom, online, and clinical settings
Teach three (3) courses per academic session , including two daytime classes and one evening or weekend course based on program needs
Independently manage assigned teaching load while maintaining a consistent on-campus presence, with an expectation of Monday–Friday availability (approximately 8 hours per day) , including at least one extended day per week until 8:00 or 9:00 PM to support evening instruction
Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to support program outcomes
Develop and revise course materials, incorporating innovation and best practices
Provide timely, documented feedback based on course outcomes
Support student success through remediation within assigned courses
Support microbiology laboratory operations, including inoculating cultures and operating/maintaining the autoclave to ensure proper sterilization procedures
Professional Role Model & Chamberlain Care
Serve as a positive professional role model, supporting students’ development
Demonstrate leadership in collaboration, communication, customer service, and professionalism
Mentor new faculty members
Service & Leadership
Contribute to program development, implementation, and evaluation
Participate in academic advising and student counseling
Support student policies related to admission, progression, retention, and graduation
Incorporate student and graduate feedback to strengthen curriculum and instruction
Provide budget recommendations to program leadership
Engage in leadership activities such as:
Chairing or serving on College committees
Supporting accreditation preparation efforts
Contributing to the Systematic Evaluation Plan through data analysis
Serving as course coordinator or Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Documenting faculty and committee actions
Scholarship & Professional Engagement
Demonstrate scholarship through teaching, discovery, application, or integration
Maintain current, evidence-based course content
Participate in peer review and reflective teaching practices
Engage in professional activities outside the College
Applied Practice Expertise (Health Profession Faculty)
Evaluate and monitor field/practicum sites for alignment with learning outcomes
Plan, supervise, and evaluate applied practice experiences
Collaborate with agencies and preceptors to ensure high-quality student experiences
Communicate current policies, procedures, and expectations
Develop assignments aligned with student competency and learning needs
Additional Expectations

Education
Master’s Degree in the field of study required (Anatomy and Physiology required; Microbiology a plus)
Doctorate degree in the field of study or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum 2+ years of full-time teaching experience required, including at least 2 years in a ranked Instructor role
Minimum 2+ years of healthcare experience required (for Faculty in Health Profession disciplines)
Demonstrated ability to teach assigned courses
Licensure & Compliance
Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials as appropriate
Professional licensure required
Must meet all compliance requirements as outlined in the Faculty Handbook

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $87,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
