The Weitz Company is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support our Des Moines office. The Administrative Assistant will perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties including greeting guests, routing incoming calls, and assisting with assigned projects. This role will also fill in to cover for our Front Desk Administrative Assistant as needed. The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. Provide coverage during lunch break and vacation for the Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Monitor, order, and stock supplies for the office, break room, and mail service area
Assist in coordination and organization of company events such as meetings, travel, conferences, and department/client activities
Identify solutions for various administrative issues and assemble material from files and records to complete special projects
1+ years of experience in an administrative role
Flexible and able to balance multiple items/requests with frequent interruptions
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
Ability to work in the office Monday – Friday during regular business hours
The Administrative Assistant will fill in for the Front Desk Administrative Assistant as needed. Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm on those predetermined days.
