Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/LPN – Primary Care Clinic (Seattle)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, candidate-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN to join our collaborative healthcare team in Seattle. This role blends 50% clinical duties and 50% administrative responsibilities, offering a comprehensive patient-care experience. Our practice prioritizes the quality of care over high productivity volumes, maintaining low provider-to-patient ratios to ensure meaningful patient interactions.

Job Details

  • Role Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN
  • Setting: Primary Care Clinic
  • Location: Seattle, WA (On-site)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Includes a designated, uninterrupted 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM lunch break)
  • Compensation:
  • Medical Assistant: $25.96 – $38.94 per hour (Dependent on experience; premium geographic differentials apply to specific Seattle clinic sites)
  • LPN Pay - $28.99 - $46.39/hr

Key Responsibilities

Clinical (50%)

  • Patient Intake: Room patients efficiently, obtain accurate vital signs, and update medical histories.
  • Provider Support: Assist healthcare practitioners during exams, minor procedures, and general treatments.
  • Environment Care: Clean, sanitize, and stock patient examination rooms and waiting areas to maintain a compliant clinical setting.
  • Care Preparation: Prep patient charts ahead of daily appointments to streamline the clinical workflow.

Administrative (50%)

  • Care Coordination: Manage patient referrals, secure prior authorizations, and handle insurance verifications.
  • Front Office Flow: Oversee patient greeting, check-in, check-out, and follow-up care scheduling.
  • Communication: Triaging phone calls, answering patient inquiries, and managing the electronic schedule.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required Skills & Licensure

  • Certification: Active DOH Medical Assistant-Certified (CMA or MA-C) status. (Open to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) under a separate pay scale).
  • Life Support: Active BLS/CPR certification issued only by the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Health Compliance: Required vaccination documentation or signed attestation for COVID-19 and Hepatitis B. Ability to pass a background check, health screening, and N95 mask fitting.

Preferred Experience

  • EMR Systems: Prior experience navigating EPIC/MyChart or equivalent Electronic Medical Record software.
  • Clinical Background: Experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
  • Experience Level: Up to 12 months of post-certification experience is preferred, but open to promising, newly certified candidates.
  • Clinical Skills: Phlebotomy experience is considered a strong asset.

Training & Benefits

Structured Onboarding: > * Day 1: System logins, compliance training, and orientation (concluding by ~3:00 PM).

  • Weeks 2–3: Hands-on, supportive shadowing alongside 2–3 dedicated Medical Assistant trainers.
  • Balanced Workload: Generous 1.5:1 MA-to-Provider ratio. Overall clinic volume ranges from 15–20 patients per day, with physician schedules intentionally capped at 10–12 patients daily to reduce burnout.
  • Incentives: Eligible for an annual performance incentive plan (up to 3% pro-rated bonus) and a $5,000 conversion bonus structure.
