Location: Open to all Harris Beach Murtha offices (Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Long Island (Uniondale), NYC, Rochester, Syracuse and White Plains, NY; Boston, MA; Bantam, Hartford, New Haven and Stamford, CT) for a hybrid or remote opportunity.

Role
Harris Beach Murtha is in search of a Docketing Clerk that will calendar court appearances, filing deadlines and supply research regarding docketing, court rules, and Federal and State court civil procedure. You will THRIVE in this role if you have:
- 3+ years of experience within a law firm as a Docketing, Calendar, or EBT Clerk (preferred)
- Familiarity utilizing MA3000, CourtAlert, eLaw or similar docketing and calendaring tools
- Knowledge of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and/or Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience computing deadlines for state, federal and appellate courts and in government agencies across the country
- Knowledge of various court websites, docket searching, and document retrieval databases required (i.e., PACER, E-Track/E-Courts, S.C.R.O.L.L., NYCAL, Courtlink and Lexis/Nexis, etc.)
Responsibilities
The Docketing Clerk is responsible for reviewing court notifications and communications from case teams for relevant dates to be calculated, updated, and entered in CourtAlert. Do you have the DRIVE and DESIRE to:
- Electronically file in state and federal court. This individual is responsible for knowledge of e-filing protocols for State and Federal courts
- Answer and/or research questions from attorneys and staff regarding court calendaring, civil procedure, and individual judge’s rules in State and Federal cases
- Consult with attorneys and staff to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures, including Appellate and Bankruptcy proceedings
- Prepare and provide various calendar and case reports, as well as daily reminders of upcoming deadlines to attorneys and staff
- Review pleadings and court filings for compliance with court rules and protocols, including applicable fees, and work with case teams to correct any issues
- Monitor, analyze, and document changes in court rules
- Record all litigation documents in CourtAlert and calculate procedural due dates
- Occasionally work overtime for after-hours electronic filing; evening e-filing coverage approximately once per week

Salary information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position, geographic locations and weekly hours schedule. The anticipated weekly schedule for the Docketing Clerk is 40 hours per week.
Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester and Syracuse, NY: $24.04 - $31.25/hour
New York, NY: $28.85 - $36.06/hour
Uniondale and White Plains, NY: $26.45 - $33.66/hour
