Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting in a project-based construction environment.

This role partners closely with the Controller, CFO, and operational leaders to provide financial insights that support decision-making, optimize project performance, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules

Perform job-cost accounting, variance analysis, and project profitability tracking

Support revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606 (percentage-of-completion)

Collaborate with project managers and operations teams on cost forecasts and change order accounting

Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), billing, and collections to support healthy cash flow

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations

Assist with external audits, tax filings, and ESOP-related accounting requirements

Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and leverage accounting systems
