As a contract Speech-Language Pathologist, youll play a crucial role working onsite with preschool-aged children, providing expert speech and language support to help them thrive. This position is based near the energetic city of New Orleans, with a focus on itinerant services for PreK caseloads (ages 3-5). The assignment runs from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2027, offering a rewarding way to make an impact over the academic year.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
- Licensed or eligible for Speech-Language Pathology licensure in Louisiana
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings (strongly preferred)
- Comfortable working with diverse populations and collaborating with early childhood educators
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to travel between sites as needed (itinerant role)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver onsite speech and language services to preschool children, creating engaging and individualized treatment plans
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and maintain accurate progress records
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations
- Adjust therapy approaches to meet the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of students
