About the job:

This position will support the daily activities of the accounting department with areas of focus on general accounting and payroll. This role will serve as a vital link between the accounting team, external clients and vendors, and internal management to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

What you will do:

  • Primary focus will be performing accounting activities that include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and contract filings.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Assist in the completion of monthly financial reporting, including preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet and income statements.
  • Conduct invoicing meetings and collaborate with managers to assess project status and back-log.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to resolve outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Assist with timesheet, expense report, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities and audits.
  • Responsible for the assignment of project numbers and entering contract information into the ERP system.
  • Manage payroll, timesheet, and expense report related activities and provide accurate and timely processing.
  • Request and process certificates of insurance for projects.
  • Provide assistance as needed to support projects, clients, and the team.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience in a professional service environment preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with Paychex payroll processing software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
