SUMMARY
The Truck Shop – Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and replacing components on George’s fleet vehicles and equipment. This position also performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service and repair fleet vehicles and equipment for George’s Inc.
- Identify problems on fleet vehicles and equipment, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Perform equipment diagnostics and troubleshoot to assess repairs costs.
- Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
- Test the functionality of parts and systems on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Perform general preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent, Valid State Driver’s license and be approved to drive per George’s Fleet Safety Program.
- Possess demonstrated knowledge of repair, overhaul and replacement of major truck and vehicle components.
PREFERRED
- Valid CDL.
