How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Omaha team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Material Handler you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. This role is responsible for loading, unloads, and moves materials within the production and shipping area by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Satisfactorily performs all packer duties
  • Follows instructions to ascertain materials or product to be moved.
  • Ensures materials meet requirements prior to conveying.
  • Conveys materials from designated areas to and from specified production machines and warehouse areas.
  • Provides packers with empty pallets and corrugate, including maintaining appropriate materials in designated areas such as middle aisle and perimeter walls.
  • Operates fork lift or electric hoist in a safe manner to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Inspects pallet lifts or fork trucks for proper condition, fills out safety checklist.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
  • Meets safety, housekeeping and attendance expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Basic math skills

Knowledge of GMP’s

Adapt to change in different work environment

Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed

Upholds and supports organizational goals and values

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Basic knowledge of computers and entry procedures.

Forklift license is required for this position.

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Airlite Rolling Stock Certified within 14 days.

D1 or D2 Certified

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
