Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room

Location: Rochester, NY 14626

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: 4x10-hour mid-shift (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

Flexibility to work either 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week travel assignment in a busy Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of recent OR experience, strong multi-speciality surgical skills, and previous travel experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with approximately 40–60 surgical cases per day across 12 service lines.

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
  • NBSTSA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience.
  • No first-time travelers.
  • Previous charge experience preferred.
  • Epic charting experience preferred.
  • Experience in a community or Level II Trauma hospital preferred.
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (locals are not accepted).

Required Clinical Experience

Candidates should have experience in multiple surgical specialties, including:

  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Bariatric Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
  • Sterile Processing

Experience with procedures such as total joint replacements, spinal fusions, craniotomies, laparoscopic procedures, vascular repairs, gastric bypass/sleeve, robotic colorectal surgery, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, thyroidectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and other complex surgical cases is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of Sterilization & Decontamination Processes

Experience:

  • Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho and Neuro : 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • NBSTSA (Required)
  • BLS from AHA (Required)
