Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Unit Manager overseeing nursing operations within a vibrant care facility. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, discharge planning, and ensure compliance with long-term care regulations and dementia or memory care protocols.
- Manage clinical operations utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations, physical examinations, and assist with specialized procedures like catheterization, IV insertion, or tube feeding as needed.
- Ensure infection control practices are followed rigorously; oversee specimen collection/processing and sterile techniques to maintain safety standards.
- Facilitate team management by supervising nursing assistants, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to promote a collaborative work environment focused on patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Valid LPN or RN license with current state licensure in good standing.
- Proven experience in Long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like PCC; proficiency in medical terminology and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or nurse management experience; ability to manage teams effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, geriatrics, dementia care, behavioral health, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Excellent patient assessment skills; capable of performing physical examinations and vital signs monitoring accurately.
- Ability to handle complex medical procedures such as ventilator management, spinal taps, or cardiac catheterization if applicable.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring the confidentiality of medical records.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring mobility and dexterity; basic life support (BLS) certification preferred.
