Regal Group CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant – Client Services to support a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients with full-cycle accounting, sales tax, financial reporting, payroll-related journal entries, and client accounting advisory support.

This role is designed for a senior-level accounting professional who has recent CPA firm or public accounting experience and is comfortable managing multiple client relationships, reviewing complex financials, identifying accounting issues, and providing guidance to other team members.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks Online, client accounting services, sales tax filings, payroll-related accounting entries, and financial statement preparation. Experience with income tax preparation is highly preferred, but not required.

Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base salary, plus bonus potential

  • *Hybrid Schedule after 4-6 months**

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple small and mid-sized business clients
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Handle complex client financials, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cleanup projects, and reporting needs
  • Maintain and review general ledger activity for accuracy, proper classification, and completeness
  • Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple clients
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper accounting treatment
  • Prepare and review payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Review payroll-related accounting activity for accuracy and proper posting
  • Identify issues in client financials and recommend corrections, process improvements, or best practices
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure confidentiality of client data
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting questions, missing information, deadlines, and reporting needs
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and review support to junior staff or other accounting team members
  • Support tax preparation workflow by ensuring client books are accurate, complete, and ready for tax review

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with recent experience in a CPA firm or public accounting environment required
  • Experience managing client accounting engagements for multiple clients
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing complex financial statements
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
  • QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred
  • Experience preparing and filing sales tax returns
  • Experience preparing and reviewing payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Knowledge of S-Corporation and Partnership accounting
  • Ability to identify accounting issues and provide solutions with limited oversight
  • Experience providing guidance, review, or leadership support to junior staff
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or Enrolled Agent certification
  • Actively working toward CPA, CMA, or EA certification
  • Experience with income tax preparation
  • Experience supporting business tax return preparation for S-Corporations and Partnerships
  • Prior experience in a client accounting services, outsourced accounting, CAS, or business management accounting role

Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will come from a CPA firm or have very recent public accounting experience supporting multiple business clients. This person should be able to take ownership of client books, handle complex financial reporting, prepare sales tax filings, review payroll-related accounting entries, and serve as a senior resource to other staff members.
