Job Summary

Operating Room Nurse in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques, and coordinating intraoperative patient care. The position requires the ability to prepare the operating room, assemble equipment, and serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the surgical team.

Job Details

  • Shift: Days, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program, BSN highly preferred. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of District of Columbia. At least 2 years of acute care operating room experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  • Additional Information: The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures; department admissions to the operative suite. Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques. Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans. Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team. Prepares the operating room for surgery, assembles equipment, ensures equipment functionality, and maintains availability of supplies and implants.
