Good Movement Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team in Lakeland, Florida. In this role, you will work directly with patients who are experiencing functional limitations related to orthopedic injuries and conditions. You will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing rehabilitation strategies to enhance patient mobility and overall well-being. Work Environment
Our rehabilitation facility is designed to promote healing and recovery through state-of-the-art equipment and a supportive atmosphere. The work setting is onsite, allowing for direct interaction with patients and collaborative teamwork with other healthcare providers. This full-time position involves a schedule of 40 hours per week with some variable weekends to accommodate patient care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical conditions, history, and functional capabilities in order to create tailored treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in a one-on-one setting, ensuring that each session is personalized according to the patient’s progress and needs.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient feedback, progress notes, and outcome measurements, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards of practice.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists, to optimize patient care and communication among caregivers.
- Educate patients and their families about rehabilitation processes, self-management techniques, and strategies to prevent injury recurrence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As an orthopedic physical therapist, you will primarily work with adult patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and general orthopedic conditions. Our patient population encompasses individuals with diverse backgrounds and culturally specific needs, thereby requiring practitioners to demonstrate exceptional empathy and effective communication skills. This role plays a critical part in improving patient mobility, function, and quality of life through tailored therapy interventions.
Qualifications
- A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited academic institution.
- Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working as a physical therapist, preferably within an orthopedic setting.
- Current CPR certification and familiarity with practices of patient safety and infection control.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a rehabilitation facility is highly desirable. Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) and teletherapy platforms is beneficial, as it enables efficient documentation and enhances communication with patients and collaborative teams. Candidates with advanced certifications in specialized areas of orthopedic rehabilitation will be given preference.
