Step into a dynamic educational setting where you can make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary-age students with significant needs. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment for a small caseload of approximately 6-8 students. The assignment runs for the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 5, 2026 through May 21, 2027.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Experience working with elementary students, preferably in significant support needs/severe needs settings
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom, support staff, and related service providers
  • Skilled at adapting instruction and materials to meet a range of learning and behavioral needs
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instruction for students with significant support needs
  • Manage a caseload of 6-8 students, ensuring all IEP goals are addressed and progress is documented
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional strategies tailored for diverse learners
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, aides, and therapists to promote student success
  • Foster a safe, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Engage with families and guardians to support student growth both at school and at home
  • Maintain compliance with all district and state special education regulations and reporting
