Job Title: CNC Machinist (Tool Room)

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $22-$26/hour, based on experience

Shift Options:

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with 15% shift premium

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to support daily operations within a tool room environment. This role focuses on machining tooling components, dies, and machine details to tight tolerances while supporting production needs and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a higher-level Tool Room Machinist background, with strong CNC setup and programming experience. Tool & Die crossover experience is a plus, but this position is focused primarily on the machining side. Wire EDM experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and program CNC machines for tooling and component production

Perform machining operations on tooling, dies, and machine details to close tolerances

Ensure quality and accuracy of all machined parts

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Support daily tool room operations and production needs

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and waste reduction

Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines

Work overtime as needed to support production demands

Qualifications

3-5+ years of experience as a CNC machinist in a tooling or tool room environment

Tool Room Machinist background with a higher-level machining skill set

CNC setup and programming experience

Tool & Die crossover experience is a plus, with a focus on machining

Wire EDM experience preferred

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Experience machining to tight tolerances

Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards

Comfortable using computers, control panels, and shop equipment

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

High School Diploma or GED required

Technical or trade school training preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Capable of standing, bending, and performing repetitive tasks

Comfortable working in a noisy manufacturing environment
