We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting activities for a manufacturing environment in Springfield, Missouri. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in standard costing and manufacturing finance, along with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders.The salary range for the position is $110,000 - $150,000 DOE, with a clear opportunity for growth and impact within a phenomenal organization.Please reach out to Austen Zemrock on LinkedIn for a direct confidential conversation or email me a Word version of your resume for more information.Responsibilities:• Direct cost accounting processes for manufacturing operations, ensuring reliable reporting of product costs, inventory valuation, and production-related expenses.• Develop, maintain, and refine standard cost structures to reflect operational realities and support accurate financial planning.• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, identify key cost drivers, and communicate findings with actionable recommendations.• Partner with plant leadership, finance teams, and operations stakeholders to improve cost controls and support profitability objectives.• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual cost close activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and review of manufacturing results.• Monitor inventory transactions and valuation methods to promote accuracy, compliance, and alignment with accounting policies.• Prepare financial analyses that support budgeting, forecasting, margin review, and strategic decision-making across the business.• Identify opportunities to enhance cost accounting procedures, reporting quality, and process efficiency within the manufacturing function.
