Job Description Summary Job DescriptionBasic QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalency1 year experience paint shop operationsRequires use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, measuring tape, calipers, scales, etc.)Proficient in use of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretationUnderstanding of basic mathematical principles (conversions to decimal system; milliliters, grams, etc.)Must pass visual acuity exam.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesPerform painting on all products and specialized parts (i.e. – DDSI parts, bellows, NPD)Perform complex error repairs in materials or surfacesResponsible for ensuring expiration date of materials to ensure materials are currentMost frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home departmentAct as primary contact for auditorsPerform duties on proto-type or first-time buildsParticipate in and support team initiativesCross-train with other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experienceCompliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentationAssist in inspection of painted/coated parts; possess understanding of paint room processes and proper workflowParticipate in, support, and assist leading team initiativesReport problems to appropriate resource and/or CoachKeep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set upCommunicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issuesAssist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheetsPerform daily preventative maintenance and inspections for complianceKeep equipment in operation by making timely adjustmentsProactively work to improve efficiency and quality of productsMust be comfortable working with and around chemicalsMust be FAA CertifiedUtilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety proceduresOther duties as required per department.Desired QualificationsExperience working with paints and coatings, and understanding of basic chemical safetyExperience in a self-directed teaming environment3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to proactively work with limited supervisionDemonstrates ability to work effectively in a team environmentHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committedLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborativeProblem-solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerAbility to use Microsoft applications to analyze data (i.e. –Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.)Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledgePhysical DemandsAbility to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition. This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek.
