NURSE PRACTITIONER | BEHAVIORIAL HEALTH SERVICES UNITS: SHORT TERM CARE/ GERIATRIC ACUTE AND REHAB SVCS | FULL-TIME DAY SHIFT (25457)

The behavioral health nurse practitioner (BHNP) renders psychiatric care to patients within the hospital setting, both inpatient and outpatient levels of care. The BHNP is responsible for assessment of the patients and, in conjunction with the physician, provides psychiatric, medical and nursing care for each identified patient. The nursing process will be utilized (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and teaching) in providing care. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
