Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated TIG Pipe Welders to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality TIG welding on various piping systems, ensuring all work meets strict industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects across construction sites, fabrication shops, and manufacturing environments. Responsibilities
- Perform precise TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on pipes, sheet metal, and structural components following blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics to determine weld locations, joint configurations, and welding procedures
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accurate fabrication and fit-up of components
- Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and fitting parts prior to welding
- Follow AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes for quality assurance and safety compliance
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape metal parts as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members on rigging, pipe threading, assembly, and installation tasks on construction sites or in fabrication shops
Skills
- Proven experience with TIG welding on various metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys
- Strong knowledge of MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and schematics accurately
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and the use of rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency with shop math including basic calculations necessary for fabrication tolerances and measurements
- Experience with mechanical fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, soldering, machining, press brake operation, and sheet metal forming
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings for assembly or repair tasks involving metal components
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to pressure piping systems and welding practices
