WHAT IS BOX?
Box (NYSE:BOX) is the leader in Intelligent Content Management. Our platform enables organizations to fuel collaboration, manage the entire content lifecycle, secure critical content, and transform business workflows with enterprise AI. We help companies thrive in the new AI-first era of business. Founded in 2005, Box simplifies work for leading global organizations, including JLL, Morgan Stanley, and Nationwide. Box is headquartered in Redwood City, CA, with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to continue driving our platform forward. Content powers how we work. It’s the billions of files and information flowing across teams, departments, and key business processes every single day: contracts, invoices, employee records, financials, product specs, marketing assets, and more. Our mission is to bring intelligence to the world of content management and empower our customers to completely transform workflows across their organizations. With the combination of AI and enterprise content, the opportunity has never been greater to transform how the world works together and at Box you will be on the front lines of this massive shift.
Why Box Needs You
Box is in the middle of an AI-first transformation, and our customers need to see it to believe it. The Demo Engineering team sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, building full working prototypes that show customers how Box solves their specific problems, from AI-powered content workflows to deep integrations with the tools they already use.
Today, our demos primarily showcase AI working inside Box. Increasingly, our customers also want to see the other direction: Box exposed as a content layer inside the AI platforms where their users already work, with an AI assistant reaching into Box to find, read, and act on content as part of a broader workflow. The demo infrastructure for that doesn't fully exist yet, and this role will build it.
We're looking for a Demo Engineer who will own the integration and AI layer of our demo strategy, building environments that showcase both self-serve assets the sales team can use independently, and custom builds for high-priority opportunities. You'll work closely with Sales, Solution Engineers, and Product to translate what Box can do into something our customers can experience firsthand, with direct exposure to enterprise customers across industries, and demos that influence our largest and most strategic deals.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain demo environments that showcase Box's AI and integration capabilities, including both AI-powered experiences inside Box (Box AI, Agents) and Box as a content platform exposed to external AI systems via its MCP server
Develop demo workflows that connect Box's MCP server alongside other services and MCP servers — orchestrating multi-platform scenarios that reflect how customers actually want to deploy AI across their tool ecosystems
Own a library of self-serve demo assets that the global sales team can use independently, keeping them current as the product and platform capabilities evolve
Provide hands-on demo build support for high-priority opportunities, working directly with Sales and SEs to tailor environments to specific customer use cases and industries
Contribute to high-visibility programs, including analyst briefings, BoxWorks (our annual customer conference), and strategic deal pursuits
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to stay ahead of new releases, ensuring demo environments reflect the latest capabilities as they ship
Help define and evolve the technical demo strategy for Box's AI and integration story, with input into what we build, how we position it, and how we scale it
Who You Are
You have a technical foundation — a degree in CS, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience building software
You understand how modern AI systems connect to external tools and data — comfortable with concepts like MCP servers, agent orchestration, API-driven workflows, and prompt configuration. You don't need to have built a model, but you should know how to wire one into a real workflow
You can work with code confidently, whether that's building your own demo applications from scratch, contributing to existing projects, or picking apart an unfamiliar codebase to understand how it works. We value resourcefulness over expertise in any single language or framework
You can translate a business problem into a technical demo — understanding what a customer is trying to solve and building an experience that makes the solution tangible
You think in workflows, not features. Given a customer scenario, you can architect a demo that connects the right services, configures the right tools, and tells a compelling end-to-end story
You're naturally collaborative and communicative. This role lives in the Sales org, and while it's not a traditional customer-f…
