Job Title: Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Established San Diego Company is seeking a responsible full-time Forklift Operator at our Vista warehouse location. This is to support a U.S. government contract handling small and large packages. Key responsibilities include receiving packages, picking, staging and ensuring outbound shipments are picked up by the correct carriers and operating a forklift. He/she must interact with others in a professional and courteous manner, while taking pride in his/her work. Candidate must possess good verbal, communication, organization and basic math skills.

This full-time position is 40 hours per week, doing a 5-hour daily shift Monday to Friday. Daily start time is 7:30am and the end time is 4:00pm. No holidays or weekend work.

For the first 90 days of employment the employee is considered probationary and earns $22.50 per hour of pay and no benefits. After 90 days, if the employee has done well, he/she will receive a raise to $24.00 per hour and be eligible for health insurance in accordance with our standard health plan policy, along with 5 sick days per year. Experience driving a forklift is mandatory. Pre-employment background check and drug screenings are required.

Skills

• Excellent Forklift Operator
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to use RF scanner and enter data into hand-held device
• Ability to lift heavy objects (70 lbs)
• Fluent in English
• Professional Appearance
• High school degree minimum.
