Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant IV position. This position manages day-to-day operations within the Department of Visual Arts, having 26 FT Faculty, 10 PT Faculty and 15 labs. In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50¿5¿83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of Pcard renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors 5 department accounts and 10 foundation accounts. Has a strong, but not controlling voice in decisions on the budget; can authorize or recommend expenditures within an approved budget. Manages event budgets.
  • P-card holder. Makes purchases for lab supplies and equipment for Visual Arts which includes Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Weaving, Textile Design, Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking, Letterpress, 3D Printing, Graphic Design, and Illustration.
  • Formulates, interprets and implements policies, rules and regulations. First point of contact for students, faculty and visitors. Gives Visual Arts tours for 5 facilities. Provides information and assists with coordination of forms for course supplies, equipment, models, guest artists, faculty travel, student semester access lists and assists with faculty questions and direction.
  • Assists students with class scheduling and advisement. Inputs course schedules.
  • Manages the Hansford Hall Gallery for student, faculty and outside entities use. Coordinates receptions and provides assistance with galleries and senior student Capstone exhibition organization.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Banner, email, accounting principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1.5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proposed Salary

  • The proposed salary range is: $19.72-$21.69 hour.
