ELECTRICIAN, STARSHIP LAUNCH PAD – NIGHT SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair and replace defective parts in electrical fixtures
Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic devices
Perform preventative repair and maintenance of field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, devices, equipment and components
Install enhancements and major upgrades to plant electrical subsystems
Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability
Test wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Troubleshoot electrical equipment such as motor control centers, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment such as generated power (generators)
Support other facilities, security, recovery, and operation teams on special projects as needed
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment under different schedules and shifts
Support directing small contract labor workforces to complete scope assigned by engineering and lead electrician
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of professional experience as an electrician
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience leading people and projects
Experienced in electrical and PLC controls
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the following systems:
Electrical power distribution systems
Switchgear and motor control centers
Exterior and interior lighting
Ground support system controls and ladder logic
Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units
Standby and emergency generators
Automatic transfer switches
Power monitoring hardware and software
Building and site grounding systems
Ability to use a variety of electrician’s hand tools including sawzall, conduit bender, clamp on current meter, and wire tugger, jig saw, hydraulic punch, hand punch, hack saw, multimeter, and spade lug crimper, as well as other measuring and testing instruments
Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial pumps
Experience with control panel design and production
Working knowledge of power coordination and arc flash
Excellent team-working skills
Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently
High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills
Able to prioritize and schedule workload under different shift schedules
Excellent communication skills
Ability to write weekly summary of accomplishments using MS Office
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to work night shift: 5PM – 3AM
Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting 35 lbs. unassisted, and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights
Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Must have a valid driver’s license
