SCHEDULE: 8AM-5PM MONDAY-FRIDAY (FULLTIME ROLE)

Shipping & Receiving Associate Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing, processing, and transporting materials throughout the facility while ensuring accurate documentation, inventory control, and on-time shipments. This role supports manufacturing operations by coordinating inbound and outboundĀ logistics, maintaining inventory accuracy, and following all safety and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Pick up and transport materials between production cells and manufacturing areas for shipping or additional processing.
  • Package products and over-pack cartons as needed to ensure safe transportation.
  • Label outgoing shipments and prepare all required shipping documentation.
  • Prepare skids, cartons, and crates for shipment, including packing, banding, shrink wrapping, crating, and applying required warning labels.
  • Complete domestic and international shipping paperwork, including bills of lading and other required export documents.
  • Assign carrier tracking or PRO numbers and verify shipment contents prior to loading.
  • Coordinate shipment pickups with freight carriers and parcel services.
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect deliveries for accuracy, and distribute materials to the appropriate departments.
  • Prepare materials and documentation for products requiring outside processing.
  • Expedite parts for production areas and provide status updates on materials at outside vendors.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by matching paperwork with materials and counting parts when necessary.
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies and inventory issues.
  • Collect, process, and dispose of scrap materials, including operating a cardboard baler.
  • Load and unload raw materials, finished goods, recyclables, and other materials using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Enter inventory transactions into the company's inventory management system and maintain accurate records.
  • File and archive shipping and inventory documentation as required.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories while maintaining organized storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S and company safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including understanding work instructions and safety documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer systems.
  • Experience with shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar carrier platforms preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, balers, scales, or other material handling equipment is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and perform physical warehouse duties in a manufacturing environment.
