Job Title
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)
Location
Sacramento, CA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM start) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation with staff
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the LDRP unit, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (couplet care)
- Circulate C-sections and manage high-risk obstetric patients including preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
- Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage patients throughout the full continuum of care from admission to discharge
- Read and interpret EKG strips for mothers in PACU; monitor patients using GE Corometric/Fetalink EFM surveillance system
- Fulfill NRP/Baby Catcher role as assigned for the full shift when needed
- Float to other Sacramento-area facilities as required; mid-shift float to another facility is rare but possible
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications required
- Ability to circulate C-sections; all RNs on this unit are required to perform this function
- Ability to float to Mother-Baby unit as needed
- Comfortable working in a high-risk OB environment and managing all aspects of LDRP care
- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips (required for PACU patients)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- STABLE certification preferred
- Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit (unit delivers approximately 140–165 births per month)
- Familiarity with GE Corometric monitoring systems and Fetalink fetal surveillance
