Special Education Teacher - North Charleston, SC

As the only Special Education Teacher, youll receive direct support from a dedicated special education coordinator and a paraeducator, ensuring you never feel isolated. Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet a caseload starting at 24 students, with flexibility for increases

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse student needs
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to support IEP goals
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulations
• Oversee academic and behavioral progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Coordinate closely with your SPED paraeducator and coordinator for optimal student support

Schedule:

• Monday Thursday: 7:30am 4:15pm
• Friday: 7:30am 3:00pm
