Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Arlington Heights, IL

Assignment Type: 3- month contract with potential for extensions/conversion

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Our client is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join a collaborative finance team in a fast-paced, professional environment. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Process, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval
  • Code invoices to correct general ledger accounts and cost centers
  • Manage high-volume invoice processing and maintain organized records
  • Prepare and execute payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues
  • Maintain vendor files, including W-9s and payment terms
  • Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payments in line with terms
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to AP
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
  • Support financial reporting and audit preparation

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping and/or accounts payable experience
  • Understanding of accounting principles and AP processes
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
