Job Title: Quality Technician

Pay: $29/hr

Shift: 6:50 AM to 3:20 PM; Monday - Friday

Job Description

The Quality Technician serves as the shift’s quality subject-matter expert, actively patrolling production areas to evaluate product quality, collect samples, verify specifications, communicate any deviations to operators and supervisors, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. This role plays a key part in ensuring products consistently meet internal standards as well as all applicable Federal and State regulations, while supporting continuous improvement in quality control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate inspection reports for production activities and finished products.
  • Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure they meet established quality and safety standards.
  • Verify ongoing compliance with internal company requirements and all applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Ensure all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly.
  • Report quality issues, anomalies, or nonconformances promptly to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Compile test data and prepare concise, informative quality reports for review and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality control processes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with production staff to reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
  • Apply Good Documentation Practices to maintain accurate, legible, and traceable records of inspections and tests.
  • Perform other related quality assurance and inspection duties as assigned to support overall product quality.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an inspector or quality technician in a food lab or food production environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with quality assurance, quality inspection, and quality control activities.
  • Knowledge of food inspection practices and food production processes.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts to perform measurements, calculations, and data analysis.
  • Excellent visual attention to detail with the ability to detect defects, deviations, and anomalies.
  • Advanced organizational skills to manage samples, records, and multiple inspection tasks efficiently.
  • Proven ability to draft reports and compile data in a clear and structured format.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical information, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices in a food setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Skills as a Quality Inspector or in a similar quality control role.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced food production settings with frequent inspections and sampling.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey quality findings to operators and supervisors.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across production and quality teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Fairfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
