As a Private Music Instructor, you will provide engaging, personalized lessons that inspire students of all ages and skill levels to grow musically while building confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. You'll join a collaborative team of educators who value relationships, professionalism, and creating meaningful experiences for every student and family.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging one-on-one and small group music lessons tailored to each student's goals, learning style, and experience level.
- Create individualized lesson plans that encourage consistent musical growth while keeping lessons fun, challenging, and student-centered.
- Teach proper technique, musicianship, music theory, sight-reading, ear training, improvisation, and performance skills as appropriate for each student.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate progress.
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback, encouragement, and goal-setting.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, auditions, competitions, and other Academy events.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and practice expectations.
- Maintain accurate lesson notes and follow Academy procedures for scheduling, communication, and student records.
- Participate in Academy performances, community events, and continuing education opportunities as part of our commitment to student growth and community engagement.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to share ideas, support students, and contribute to Anthem Road Academy's positive culture.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in one or more instruments or voice with the ability to teach students across varying ages and skill levels.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong musicianship and a passion for education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both students and parents.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs and goals of each learner.
- Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual.
- Passion for helping students become confident musicians and confident individuals.
- Willingness to continue developing as both a musician and educator through ongoing professional growth.
- Experience with early childhood music instruction, musical theatre, songwriting, recording, or multiple instruments is a plus.
