Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional with a strong ethical foundation and a passion for accuracy? We’re looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our Finance team and help ensure our employees are paid timely and correctly, while maintaining compliance with financial and reporting standards.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Comptroller, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing biweekly payroll, reconciling benefit-related accounts, and partnering with HR to manage benefits billing and deductions. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and trust across our organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Process biweekly payroll through a third-party system (e.g., ADP, Netchex) and ensure audit accuracy before submission
  • Import and reconcile timekeeping data (LASRS) and mileage reimbursements (FileBound)
  • Review tax withholdings, benefits, insurance deductions, and handle garnishments and liens
  • Coordinate with HR for benefits updates and invoice reconciliation
  • Report payroll metrics to the Comptroller and CFO
  • Prepare ad-hoc payrolls and reports for audits, grants, and leadership
  • Balance benefit liabilities to the General Ledger and investigate variances

What You Bring:

βœ… Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in payroll administration

βœ… Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Microsoft Office, and accounting software (NetSuite Oracle preferred)

βœ… Knowledge of payroll platforms like ADP, Netchex, and FileBound

βœ… Strong attention to detail, ethics, and discretion when handling confidential information

βœ… Familiarity with GAAP and benefits reconciliation

βœ… Flexibility to work extended hours during audits and budget cycles
