Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive musculoskeletal and orthopedic care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic conditions including joint pain, arthritis, fractures, mobility limitations, and other musculoskeletal disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a dedicated interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal assessments for patients in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities
Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions including joint pain, osteoarthritis, fractures, sprains, mobility impairments, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, therapeutic interventions, and rehabilitative recommendations
Conduct routine follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Provide patient and family education regarding orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, fall prevention, and mobility support
Perform joint injections and other in-office orthopedic procedures as appropriate and within scope of practice
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR system
Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and care delivery
Requirements
Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
DEA License
CPR BCLS/BLS certified
Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
A year of experience in Orthopedics or musculoskeletal care
Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
Must have great organizational and time management skills.
