Position Purpose:

As a key member of our food supply chain, Delivery Drivers ensure customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company while building lasting client relationships.

The Class A Delivery Driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on various routes to deliver and unload food and related products promptly and safely, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will professionally communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries, and act as a collaborative team member within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer to meet DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and our safety driving policies.
  • Report any safety hazards immediately, and inspect the trailer to ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
  • Perform count checks on loaded items, ensuring invoices are accurate and paperwork is completed legibly.
  • Drive to deliver customer orders following a predetermined route diligently and unloading products in designated areas.
  • Carry out damage control checks on items, scan products, and inform supervisors about orders that need to be handled per company policy. Verify deliveries with customers and obtain appropriate signatures.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer securely before ensuring that all freight is locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and returns, completing necessary paperwork upon check-in.
  • Maintain daily records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform housekeeping duties within the tractor and loading dock area, ensuring trailers are maintained clean and clear.
  • Fulfill additional related duties as assigned to meet company needs.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

1+ years of commercial driving experience

Valid CDL-A with a minimum age of 21+ years

Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable)

Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years

Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check

Successful completion of a road test

Hold or be able to secure a valid current DOT Health Card

Able to hand-lift and utilize various equipment for moving and stacking product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift, with items generally ranging from 10-35 pounds and occasionally 60-90 pounds depending on location.
