Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver ICF/DDN to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex care needs. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and independence.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to ensure residents' health stability.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with mobility and transfers.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas.
- Engage residents through social activities, companionship, and support for community outings or appointments.
- Maintain accurate records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and document changes in residents' conditions diligently.
- Follow infection control procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing resident areas regularly.
- Employ first aid and CPR skills promptly when emergencies arise, ensuring resident safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care in a respectful manner.
- Knowledge of dementia care, memory support techniques, and geriatrics best practices.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in behavior management or Alzheimer's care is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related support needs preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to resident support.
- Valid driver's license for transportation duties may be required depending on the role’s scope.
