Caregiver ICF/DDN

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver ICF/DDN to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex care needs. This role is vital in promoting independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing the overall well-being of residents within our care facilities. Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and independence.
• Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to ensure residents' health stability.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with mobility and transfers.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas.
• Engage residents through social activities, companionship, and support for community outings or appointments.
• Maintain accurate records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and document changes in residents' conditions diligently.
• Follow infection control procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing resident areas regularly.
• Employ first aid and CPR skills promptly when emergencies arise, ensuring resident safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care in a respectful manner.
• Knowledge of dementia care, memory support techniques, and geriatrics best practices.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring.
• Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in behavior management or Alzheimer's care is advantageous.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related support needs preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
• Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to resident support.
• Valid driver's license for transportation duties may be required depending on the role’s scope.
