Overview
Join an insurance agency as a Sales Associate and be the friendly, professional first point of contact for our clients while helping this Agency grow and exceed sales goals. In this role, you’ll be responsible for selling to new and existing customers, achieving and exceeding sales goals, support existing policyholders, assist with service and billing questions, help maintain accurate policy records, and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience by phone, email, and in person. This hourly plus commission position is ideal for someone who enjoys selling, learning, helping people, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced office environment. This is primarily a sales role but will also include servicing the current book of business.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to American Family Insurance customers via phone, email, and in person
- Sell new policies and achieve sales goals
- Cross sell and upsell new policies to current customers
- Call new leads and log call information into CRM
- Ask for referrals
- Sell multiple products for each household
- Support policy servicing needs such as basic policy updates, ID cards, evidence of insurance requests, billing questions, and general account assistance (based on licensing/authority)
- Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars using office tools and Google Workspace/Microsoft Office
- Enter and maintain customer information accurately in agency management/CRM systems
Cold calling leads will be a requirement in this role
Preferred Qualifications / Requirements
- Prior experience achieving and exceeded goals in sales organization, preferrable in the insurance industry
- Preferred: Active Property & Casualty (P&C) and life insurance license,
- Life insurance will be a big focus for this agency, so someone with a background selling life insurance or is preferred
- Willingness to obtain required insurance licensing within a specified timeframe if not currently licensed (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential customer information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace
- Excellent communication skills, strong phone etiquette, and a positive mindset
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently in a team environment
- Able to manage leads in a CRM and follow up on a cadence
