ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to lead inspection operations at our Quonset, RI facility, with functional oversight of inspection at our Quincy, MA facility. You will own incoming, in-process, end-of-line, and MRB inspection. The team is 6-10 inspectors today and growing. This is a hands-on leadership role: you set the standard for how inspection runs, develop the inspectors who execute it, and partner with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality to keep escapes out of our products and our customers’ hands.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead, develop, and grow a multi-site inspection team covering incoming, in-process, end-of-line, and MRB operations
Own inspection throughput KPIs: receiving dock-to-stock cycle time, inspection WIP and aging, on-time inspection completion, FAI turnaround, inspector utilization and capacity planning
Maintain and apply quality control standards; train inspectors and document training records
Partner with Quality Engineering on inspection plan creation, sampling strategy, and characteristic identification
Support MRB activities by presenting inspection findings, providing measurement data, and executing dispositioned rework/scrap/return actions on the floor
Support new product introduction by inspecting prototype and early-phase parts, capturing observations that inform final inspection plans and drawings
Interface with Supplier Quality and Sourcing on supplier performance issues surfaced at receiving
Apply Lean methods to improve inspection throughput, reduce cycle time, and balance capacity across incoming, in-process, and MRB queues
REQUIRE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field — or equivalent experience
7+ years in Quality within defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing
3+ years in a people management role
Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and Quality Management Systems
Proficiency reading engineering drawings and applying GD T (ASME Y14.5)
Hands-on experience with calibrated inspection equipment: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins/blocks, surface plates, CMM, FaroArm, optical comparators
Experience participating in MRB activities and executing NCR workflows (containment, segregation, disposition follow-through)
Experience writing and revising inspection work instructions and SOPs
Experience managing inspectors across more than one site or shift
Strong data fluency — pulling throughput and capacity data, building inspection dashboards, and using metrics to drive staffing and process decisions
U.S. Person status (required for access to controlled data)
Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical degree in mechanical, aerospace, or quality engineering
ASQ CQE, CQA, or equivalent certification
Experience inspecting subsea, marine, or pressure-rated hardware
Experience with electronics inspection (PCBAs, wire harnesses, power supplies); IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
Familiarity with QMS / MES / ERP / PLM platforms
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt; Lean experience in low-rate / high-mix production
Experience interfacing with Supplier Quality Engineering on supplier performance and corrective action
Experience supporting NPI and prototype inspection where requirements are still maturing
US Salary Range
$126,000 $167,000 USD
