Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic (CDL Required | ASE Certifications Preferred)
Pay: $40.00–$55.00 per hour (Based on experience, certifications, and qualifications)
Job Summary
Destination Systems is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair our fleet of diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. We are looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and is committed to keeping our fleet operating at the highest level. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel and CNG-powered buses and commercial vehicles
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and DOT safety inspections
- Troubleshoot engine, electrical, air brake, suspension, steering, HVAC, and drivetrain systems
- Perform repairs to fuel, cooling, hydraulic, and emission systems
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Respond to occasional roadside service calls as needed
- Assist with mentoring junior technicians and maintaining a safe, organized shop
Qualifications
- Experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses, or commercial fleet vehicles
- Valid CDL (Class A or B), or willingness to obtain one after hire
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use diagnostic software and electronic scan tools
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications preferred
- Candidates willing to obtain ASE certifications are encouraged to apply
- Experience with CNG vehicle maintenance is a plus (training available)
- Air brake and electrical diagnostic experience preferred
Schedule
We understand work-life balance matters. We offer multiple scheduling options based on shop needs, including:
- 3/12 schedule (Three 12-hour shifts)
- 4/10 schedule (Four 10-hour shifts)
- 5/8 schedule (Five 8-hour shifts)
Up to 10% overtime opportunities are available based on operational needs.
