We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our accounting processes. In this vital role, you will oversee a team of accounting professionals, manage complex financial transactions, and ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards. Your expertise in corporate and non-profit accounting, along with strong technical skills, will drive the preparation of financial statements, support audits, and facilitate strategic financial planning.   • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, fostering professional development and ensuring high-quality work output.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing processes.
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met accurately and on time, including tax filings and other governmental disclosures.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis reports to support strategic decision-making initiatives.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and review of financial data to optimize liquidity management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial statements.
  • Prepare and file quarterly Call Report to NCUA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or 5 or more years of banking accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles; experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting standards such as securities law or Wills & Trusts law if applicable.
  • Demonstrated expertise with accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero or QuickBooks; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Effective leadership skills with experience mentoring teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes, financial report writing, forecasting techniques, and financial management strategies.
