Job Description:

Responsible for directly monitoring, coordinating and overseeing the daily scheduled route operation of the vehicle, all while providing excellent customer service

  • Answer phones
  • Use two-way radio to dispatch vehicles as needed
  • Monitor vehicles using GPS tracking
  • Communicate with drivers to maintain proper headways and spacing
  • Communicate traffic or maintenance issues that
  • Check road conditions/accidents on major routes and assess re-route possibilities
  • Direct drivers on the radio about reroutes and accidents that effect service to customers
  • Review driver schedules to ensure proper staffing
  • Alert Operations Manager and Admin Assistant of any upcoming staffing issues
  • Give drivers vehicle and route assignment
  • Direct drivers as needed in absence of the Operations Manager
  • Work varied shifts as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least one 1-year experience handling multiple phone lines
  • Software experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook and other Internet applications
  • Prior experience working with a transportation system and GPS functions
  • Ability to sit in one position for prolonged periods of time viewing a computer screen
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Complete pre-employment background check
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
