Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume stamping and welding operation by running press and weld machines, inspecting parts, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. You will work on either 1st or 2nd shift, handling coil-fed stamping presses and related equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality production in an automotive and aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press and weld machines, including coil-fed stamping presses, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Use hand tools, metrology equipment, and plasma cutters to support production activities.
  • Monitor product quality by checking parts with gauges and documenting results to verify and record quality standards.
  • Assist die setters with die changes to support smooth and timely production transitions.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting activities on presses to address minor issues and maintain uptime.
  • Pack parts using available equipment, ensuring correct counts, labeling, and packaging standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area through basic housekeeping, including managing scrap containers and debris.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with presses, welding machines, and other equipment.
  • Perform various other duties as required by leadership to support production and facility needs.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time and stand for extended periods during the shift.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive or aerospace environments.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or large distribution centers such as high-volume logistics operations.
  • Previous exposure to inspection, packaging, machine operation, or general production work.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate stamping presses, weld machines, and related production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail for inspecting parts and accurately documenting quality results.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods of time throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with overtime on Saturdays and additional overtime as needed.
  • Comfort working in a loud stamping facility environment.
  • Reliability and consistent work history that demonstrates dependability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous forklift or crane experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with hand tools, metrology equipment, and plasma cutters.
  • In automotive or aerospace manufacturing, or high-volume distribution operations.
  • Familiarity with general labor, assembly, and production workflows.
  • Comfort working with presses ranging from 100 to 600 tons, MIG welding machines, and orbit forming machines.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train in other departments for internal growth opportunities.

Work Environment

This position is based in a multi-building stamping and manufacturing facility, where you may support operations across six buildings. The environment includes 100–600 ton progressive presses, MIG welding machines, and orbit forming machines used for riveting, typical of a high-volume stamping operation. The facility is loud and industrial, not the cleanest but not excessively dirty, and designed for heavy manufacturing. You will work Monday through Friday on either 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), with overtime on Saturdays and additional overtime as needed. Safety equipment such as masks, latex gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfecting spray, and safety glasses is provided. The dress code requires no shorts or tank tops, and comfortable tennis shoes are recommended to support long periods of standing in a production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MOUNT CLEMENS, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
