The Medical Assistant/Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting our healthcare team by providing both clinical and administrative assistance to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations, taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and updating patient records in the electronic health system.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile.
  • Collect specimens (e.g., swabs) and conduct basic lab tests as directed by the provider.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.
  • Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing or copay collection as needed.
  • Manage incoming calls and messages, providing accurate information or routing inquiries to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
  • Support front office operations when needed, including check-in, check-out, and documentation processing.
  • Deliver compassionate care and ensure patients feel valued, informed, and comfortable throughout their visit.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, both independently and as part of a collaborative care team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for prolonged periods.
  • Manual dexterity to handle instruments and perform clinical procedures.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
