Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Classroom Teacher to support the growth, development, and learning of young children in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, able to create engaging classroom experiences, and committed to building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Key Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction & Curriculum Support
Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Use developmentally appropriate practices to create engaging learning experiences through play, exploration, music, movement, art, literacy, and hands-on activities.
Child Development & Supervision
Provide attentive supervision to ensure children are safe, supported, and actively engaged throughout the day. Observe children’s progress, recognize individual needs and strengths, and adjust activities to support each child’s growth.
Classroom Management
Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe classroom environment. Support daily routines, transitions, meals, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom expectations using positive guidance strategies.
Family Communication
Build warm and respectful relationships with parents and guardians. Communicate regularly about children’s daily experiences, progress, needs, and classroom updates using professional and positive communication.
Teamwork & Professionalism
Work cooperatively with other teachers, assistants, leadership, and support staff. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to continue growing as an early childhood educator.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all South Carolina DSS childcare licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, center policies, and classroom supervision standards. Maintain required documentation and assist with keeping child records, incident reports, and daily communication accurate and up to date.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, ECD 101, or related childcare credentials preferred.
Experience
Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early learning setting preferred.
Certifications
Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Must meet South Carolina DSS requirements for employment in a licensed childcare facility.
Skills
Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
Ability to create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Patience, flexibility, dependability, and a genuine love for working with children.
Experience using childcare management apps such as Brightwheel or Procare is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
