Security Officer – 3rd Shift (9 PM – 7 AM)

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008

Pay Rate: $19.08/hr. + Great benefits from the State of AZ.

Shift: 40 hours/week with 4 days 10-hour shifts

Term: Contract-to-perm, Start ASAP

Vaccine & Credential Requirements

  • Rubella/Rubeola titers or MMR vaccination
  • Hep B titer or vaccination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Current TB skin test or QTB (within past 12 months)
  • N-95 mask fitting
  • FPCC required -must apply upon hiring if not held- (Fellow in Person-Centered Care, a professional credential in healthcare that validates a provider’s expertise and track record in delivering compassionate, patient-first care.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily security rounds, control egress/ingress for multiple hospital and campus facilities
  • Respond to, and participate in, codes, drills, emergencies, safety inspections, and deliver customer service
  • Rotate through assigned posts or act as campus interior rover
  • Assist in patient interventions, conflict resolution, and support staff using Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) methods
  • Conduct vehicle and radio maintenance, perform safety inspections, and complete all related documentation
  • Report to Hospital Security Supervisor and communicate crucial updates as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a Security Guard/Officer
  • Ability to follow and execute written or verbal directives
  • Strong verbal de-escalation and communication skills
  • Evacuation procedures knowledge (fire extinguishers, emergency response)
  • Skilled in investigation, report writing, and operating security-related electronic equipment (cameras, radios, emergency systems)
  • Able to provide verbal/physical intervention in critical situations
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with patients, staff, law enforcement, and visitors
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures accurately
  • Capable of performing physical duties (lifting, carrying)
  • Actively support a diverse, inclusive, and equal opportunity workforce
