Position Overview

We are looking for friendly, motivated, and hardworking people to join our growing team. Part‑time positions are being filled at our Au Bon Pain Café in Methodist Hospital, 1701 N Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Responsibilities

  • Arrive in proper uniform and adhere to all grooming standards.
  • Act as the front‑line customer service representative, smiling, greeting customers, ringing their order in a fast, hospitable manner and creating a lasting impression.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by continuously checking the POS area and overall café inventory and stock.
  • Participate in One‑Minute Meetings daily.
  • Ensure gloves are worn at all times when handling food.
  • Demonstrate hospitality, respect, and kindness toward customers and fellow team members.
  • Merchandise products, check for quality, ensure presentation, and restock brewing coffee, sandwich making, etc.
  • Provide fast, timely, and accurate service by communicating, organizing tasks, and working with teamwork (assisting other CSR’s with customers).
  • Suggest sales and keep customers informed of products, promotions, and services (e.g., catering).
  • Follow all cash handling procedures as outlined; failure to do so can result in immediate termination.
  • Assist in financial accountability by recording orders, receiving/giving change, and counting the drawer.
  • Thank customers and invite them to return.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and experience to perform duties at all work stations (coffee, salad, bakery, sandwich preparation, cleaning, etc.).
  • Act as a role model with customers and staff, and provide on‑the‑job training for new CSR’s.
  • Collaborate with others in a team to support operations, standards, and concept essence.
  • Be flexible and possess the ability to adapt to changes, difficult customers, and emergencies/problems in the café.
