Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products meet stringent aerospace and precision manufacturing standards. This position uses mechanical and electronic measuring tools to verify conformity to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements, while maintaining thorough documentation in line with quality management systems and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, components, in-process assemblies, and finished products using mechanical and electronic measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Verify that parts and assemblies conform to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Document all inspection results, discrepancies, and non-conformance reports accurately in accordance with established quality management systems.
  • Support root cause analysis and participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement across operations.
  • Maintain traceability and complete documentation for all inspected components in alignment with ITAR and AS9100 requirements.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external regulatory inspections or customer audits as needed.
  • Ensure all inspection equipment and tools are properly calibrated, maintained, and used in accordance with procedures.
  • Help implement, reinforce, and sustain best practices on the manufacturing floor to promote a strong culture of quality.
  • Contribute to quality initiatives related to aerospace propulsion systems, engine components, and new product introduction (NPI) activities.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection within an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards and ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable using inspection software, ERP systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a high level of documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey inspection findings and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Experience with aerospace propulsion systems or engine components.
  • Familiarity with CMM programming and digital inspection tools.
  • Previous involvement in facility startup or new product introduction (NPI).
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement frameworks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with drone or unmanned systems manufacturing and related assembly technician work.
  • Automotive maintenance or similar mechanical experience that supports hands-on inspection and troubleshooting.
  • Valid U.S. passport to support potential international travel for training.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roswell, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $32.00/hr.
