Duties

  • Load and unload freight or equipment to/from trailers for receiving or shipment from the yard.
  • Safely operate forklift and other equipment.
  • Loading and unloading excavators from intermodal containers.
  • Complete equipment inspections.
  • Work alone with a limited amount of supervision.
  • Be able to work outside in all reasonable weather conditions.
  • Read and interpret paperwork associated with the shipping/receiving function including but not limited to; bills of lading, shipping orders, manifests, tally sheets or export documentation.
  • Must have a current drivers license.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Ability to lift items of 50lbs.

Requirements

  • Forklift certification
  • Ability to operate forklift and various types of equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
